Fans and Not Know It..

Picture it .. a college student, away from home, on a campus filled with raw passion for book learning and yearnings (for one another, that is) and you come to learn, you had fans and knew not. Very active and well known on campus; there's a buzz around and about you and yet, you get wind of it, after leaving school.
That was the case, in this case; my brother - man about town - for years, would come back from hanging out; asking: "Do you know so and so? He said he was crazy about you." Sometimes, I knew the name and other times I wouldn't. In regards to college, he asked me on two different occasions, about two guys from different campuses - both very popular.
Each known by one name - one on the basketball team, star player - say his first name - everyone at the time, at the school knew who he is. The other, on his campus known by his last name - another female magnet! Them I knew in passing - oh, they would say hi when not draped over with bodies. No other conversations did each, have for me beyond that capacity.
Men such as described usually are emboldened with ego. Hmmm...so, what made them feel I wasn't approachable? What came out of this, is Two assurances: 1. My brother over the years came to witness that something was odd regarding me being approached - it was nice to know - it's wasn't just me, wondering what gives?
2. Later in life I ran into a guy friend from college, who shared how I was known among the fellas on campus. "Known as The Nun." LOL, why's that? I asked; "because, you ain't giving up none!"
Maybe this isolation thing was a safety net.
Moral of the story: Everything that looks bad - isn't
"And we know that, ALL things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28)
